MultiMeasure

Autodesk University is Autodesk's annual make and design conference, a part of which is the Factory Experience -- a chance to physically make a product designed uniquely for each year and by the processes in which it was made. My small team of three designed the multi tool that Autodesk chose to produce for 2025's Factory Experience. Starting with a prototype from a previous project, my team iterated and refined to create the Autodesk MultiMeasure.

Form

Inspired by a carabiner, the MultiMeasure started much larger than the size of our final product. Hand-held and sturdy, the material choices of the form suggest it's function. 3D printed prototypes helped us rapidly change and upgrade our design, allowing us to test scale.

Function

Measuring angles, distance, RGB values, as well as level and plumb, the MultiMeasure is a tool designed to help designers and architects on the go. Intuitive buttons control the output screen, and the swinging aluminum arm of the angle measurer speaks clearly of movement once in hand.

The Factory Experience

Selected to be an ambassador representing the Rochester Institute of Technology at Autodesk University, I traveled to the conference in Nashville, Tennessee to help attendees build their MultiMeasure at the Factory Experience. We finally assembled a tangible, working version of our design, and were fortunate to share it with with thousands of others.
